Industrial Grade Flow Sensor KE- FLS 2000 SERIES

The industrial standard KE- FLS 2000 Series is a high repeatable Rugged sensor series that offer exceptional value with little or no maintenance. These are used for continuous monitoring of surface water, ground water, pure water production, filtration systems, chemical production, liquid delivery systems, scrubber systems, gravity feed lines, and Sodium Hypochlorite transfer and production. The FLS Series sensors are offered in a variety of materials for a wide range of pipe sizes and pipe insertion configurations. Material choices including PP and PVDF make this model highly versatile and chemically compatible to many liquid process solutions.

Sensor Features
1- Wide Dynamic Liquid Velocity Range (0.1 to 6 m/s)
2- High accuracy with fast response and good repeatability of 0.5% of max. range.
3- Self-Powered with ± 1% linearity in measurement value of max. range.
4- Can be used in Low Pressure Systems as well with Temp up to 85°C.
5- Sensors can be installed in Pipes from DN15 (1/2 in) up to DN900 (36 in.).
6- Easy to replace Rotor if damaged.
7- Open Collector Output with high resolution and noise immunity.
8- Can be used for Concentrated Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5% applications.

Sensor Installation

1- Depressurize and vent piping and system prior to installation or removal of sensor.

2- Don’t exceed maximum temperature or pressure specs mentioned in technical data table.

3- Do not use this product for any purpose other than liquids for which it is designed.

4- Connect the Sensor to Controller, add K-factor values in KE-FL1000 Process Controller for specified pipe line size and flow. (K-factor table is mentioned on last page).

5- Lubricate O-rings with a non-petroleum based, viscous lubricant (grease) compatible with the system.

6- Using an alternating/twisting motion, lower the sensor into the fitting, making sure the installation arrows on the black cap are pointing in the direction of flow, see Figure A.

Sensor Installation (Contd.)

1- Hand Tighten one thread of the sensor cap on the fitting then turn the sensor until the alignment male tab of sensor is seated in the fitting female notch, see Figure B.



Sensor Maintenance

  1. The retaining nuts of paddlewheel sensors are not designed for prolonged contact with aggressive substances. Strong acids, caustic substances and solvents or their vapor may lead to failure of the retaining nut.

  2. Paddlewheel flow sensors are subject to wear and may require maintenance and replacement of mechanical parts (rotors, pin, O-rings, bearings, retainers, etc.).

  3. Maintenance will only occur when one of following happens otherwise sensor is maintenance free:

    • Wrong selection of Sensor model for Recommended Flowrate

    • Wrong selection of Sensor model for Recommended Pipe Size

    • Occurrence of Water Hammering

    • Fluid Corrosiveness and Abrasiveness

    • Sensor installation other than recommended fittings and procedure


Sensor Wiring and Connections


1- In case of any issue other than mentioned above, immediately inform RCB representative about the issue which will be resolved at the earliest.

2- Special fittings for Flow Sensors KE-FLS 2000 series can be ordered to RCB separately.
